New study finds cultivated meat could reduce climate impact by 92%
A new landmark study predicts the environmental impact of cultivated meat at commercial scale in comparison with traditional livestock production.
The findings for beef builds on previous studies, predicting major reductions in climate impact, land use, water use, and air pollution.
It showed as long as more than 30% sustainable energy is used, cultivated meat will be environmentally better than all conventional meats. Notably, the study used ambitious benchmarks for conventional meat.
Over 15 companies either developing or in the supply chain of cultivated meat contributed to the study. It was also cross-checked by independent experts.
