Cultivate at Scale: Empowering Cellular Agriculture to Thrive

At Mosa Meat, we're proud to share an exciting milestone in the evolution of cellular agriculture. Over the years, we’ve pushed the boundaries of what’s possible with cultivated meat. Now, we're taking the next step to empower the broader cellular agriculture ecosystem: the graduation of our facility into Cultivate at Scale, an independent, open-access scale-up center for cell culture innovation.

A Facility Built to Scale the Future of Food
Located in Maastricht, Cultivate at Scale is a vision on the field of cellular agriculture brought to life. Developed with the support of the Dutch government’s National Growth Fund and rooted in Mosa Meat’s expertise, this center is designed to provide critical infrastructure to companies working on cell culture bioprocesses. From small startups to established players, Cultivate at Scale offers an unparalleled platform to transition from lab-scale research to scalable production.

The creation of this facility underscores our belief in collaboration as a catalyst for progress. By offering open access, we’re lowering barriers for innovation and contributing to a thriving ecosystem of cellular agriculture companies working toward sustainable food systems.

Spinning Out, Not Away
While Cultivate at Scale operates independently, its foundation is deeply intertwined with Mosa Meat’s journey. We’re incredibly proud to see this initiative stand on its own, reflecting a collaborative effort that involved partners across the cellular agriculture sector, alongside government support. This achievement exemplifies our commitment to creating long-term impact not just for cultivated meat, but for the broader promise of cellular agriculture.

A Global Hub for Innovation
The Netherlands has long been a leader in sustainable food innovation. From being the birthplace of cultivated meat to fostering a supportive ecosystem for cellular agriculture, this country is uniquely positioned to drive forward change. Cultivate at Scale joins this ecosystem as a cornerstone for advancing cell culture, complementing a new precision fermentation facility launched by NIZO in Ede.

Together, these facilities represent a significant leap toward the future of food—one where meat, dairy, and other animal products are produced directly from cells, reducing the environmental footprint of traditional production while enhancing food security.

Joining Forces to Accelerate Progress
Cultivate at Scale is more than a building; it’s a collaborative space with access to critical services such as bulk purchasing of low-cost cell feed ingredients, quality control, and regulatory consulting. The dedicated team at Cultivate at Scale is equipped to help companies navigate the complexities of scaling their innovations, bringing the promise of cellular agriculture closer to reality.

Celebrating a Shared Achievement
At Mosa Meat, we’ve always believed in the power of partnerships to drive meaningful change. Cultivate at Scale stands as a testament to what can be achieved when industry, government, and academia unite for a common cause. We’re honored to have played a role in bringing this facility to life and excited to see it empower others in the cellular agriculture community.

The future of food is being shaped today, and with Cultivate at Scale, the possibilities are limitless.
