Scaling up our beef production

This month we launched the second phase of scaling up our process, and added a new space to our home in Maastricht.

Our Phase 2 space will carry bigger bioreactors, which cultivate the growing cells, and enable us to produce beef at larger scale.

Our Bioprocess and Automation Teams are hard at work in the new space as we move into this new and exciting stage of our production.

Our Bioprocess Team members begin work in our Phase 2 space.

For example, our innovative Automation Team has created our own process control software to perform operations such as automated media exchange in the different types of bioreactors. This means the cultivation process is possible 24 hours, 7 days a week through remote monitoring and control, helping our team work more efficiently.

Phase 2 brings us closer to our goal of producing cultivated beef at an industrial scale, and we’re already planning for our next phase!
